Dad
Dad · co-host
Hands-on dad, chief logistics officer, and the one who asks the doctors “okay, but what does that actually mean?”
About the show
Two parents, twin kids, and one diagnosis that changed how we see everything.
When our twins arrived, we got two of everything: two cribs, two car seats, two sets of 3am feedings. What we didn't expect was that one of our babies would be diagnosed with hydrocephalus, and that our family's story would split into two paths running side by side.
On this podcast we sit down together (sometimes after bedtime, sometimes with a toddler on a lap) and talk about what it's really like: the hospital days and the ordinary days, raising one child with extra medical needs and one without, keeping our marriage strong, and making sure both kids feel equally seen and loved.
Shunts, scans, surgeons and specialists: what we've learned, explained in plain words.
Two personalities, two timelines, one bond. Comparing less and celebrating more.
Where we agree, where we don't, and how we keep showing up for each other.
Meet the family
Dad · co-host
Hands-on dad, chief logistics officer, and the one who asks the doctors “okay, but what does that actually mean?”
Mom · co-host
The heart of the house, the keeper of every appointment, and the reason anyone in this family remembers to eat lunch.
Twin · the firstborn
First to arrive and never lets anyone forget it. Healthy, curious, endlessly busy, and Coconut's biggest fan.
Twin · our hydro warrior
Born second and diagnosed with hydrocephalus. Tougher than all of us combined. Big smiles, bigger determination.
Because this show is about us, the parents. Two people, two hearts, one team. Raising our kids through hospital days and ordinary days takes everything both of us have, and some days it takes twice the heart we thought we had. This podcast is where we talk about that, together.
Our kids didn't choose to be on a podcast. Using nicknames and keeping our faces and location private lets us talk openly about their health and our family, while giving them the chance to tell their own stories, their own way, when they're older.
Send it in and it might end up on a future episode. We never share your name.
